Low Incidence/Multiple Disabilities Classroom-St. Henry Elementary
The Mercer County ESC is seeking an Intervention Specialist starting in the 2024-25 school year.
The candidate should be dedicated to supporting the MCESC mission of providing high quality cooperative services that positively impact the diverse educational needs of students, staff and community. The candidate should also believe all students are valued, can learn and grow, and will become successful and independent adults.
Essential job duties include:
- Providing individual and small group instruction designed to meet individual needs of pupils in communication, social, and daily living skills, with a focus using curriculum based lessons.
- Creating an effective environment of learning that includes a climate that reinforces acceptable pupil behavior, attitudes and social skills.
- Cooperates and collaborates with parents and other professionals to help meet student goals.
Qualified candidates must possess the following:
Valid K-12 Intervention Specialist License from the Ohio Department of Education-Mild to Moderate/Moderate to Intense

Full-Time Gifted Intervention Specialist @ Fort Recovery Elementary School
The Mercer County ESC is seeking a Gifted Intervention Specialist for Fort Recovery Elementary School starting in the 2024-2025 school year.
The Gifted Intervention Specialist should be dedicated to supporting the MCESC mission of providing high-quality cooperative services that positively impact the diverse educational needs of students, staff, and community. The Gifted Intervention Specialist should also believe all students are valued, can learn and grow, and will become successful and independent adults.
Essential job duties include but are not limited to:
- Demonstrate broad subject matter competence and teaching proficiency. Use teaching strategies that stimulate interest, enthusiasm, and curiosity while addressing individual learning patterns.
-Ensure the learning process is guided toward the gifted program's curricular goals and objectives.
- Establish an environment for gifted students that encourages independent learning and group problem-solving skills.
- Prepare and carry out clear, usable, and sequential daily lesson plans. Research and prepare appropriate educational materials for gifted students.
- Provide close supervision and take reasonable precautions to ensure student safety.
- Stay up to date and utilize innovations in technology.
Qualified candidates must possess the following:
- Valid Grades K-5 Teaching License from the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce
- Licensed or willing to obtain a Gifted Intervention Specialist Endorsement

2023 - 2024 Temporary Substitute Teacher License
Applicants must have a high school diploma. If interested, please fill out the Temporary Substitute Teacher Questionnaire link below. You will then receive an email with additional information and instructions. Once you apply for the temporary license and have all the additional information turned in, you can begin subbing, although you will not receive the actual license until the end of September.
**Last year's temporary subs will ONLY need to apply for a new temporary license on the Ohio Department of Education website using the Mercer County ESC IRN #048546, as they did last year. (Click on Apply for a New Credential/Substitutes/Temporary Substitute License -1 year (Non-Bachelors). **
