Working Together for Your Child!
A Parent Mentor can provide assistance to families, agencies and school personnel by:

- Acting as a liaison between parents and schools; - Collaborating with county agencies and schools that provide services to children with disabilities and their families; - Listening to concerns and helping find answers and/or solutions; - Guiding parents through the special education process; - Offering one-on-one support regarding services, IEP's, assessments, program options, agency contacts, and support groups; - Forming a resource lending library; - Publishing a biannual newsletter with up-to-date information, new ideas, and calendar of upcoming events. |
