Full-Time Social Worker at our Community Learning Center

Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate or professional degree (Masters or above) from an accredited university and School Social Work certificate/ Licensed Independent Social Worker with the state of Ohio. Or the ability to obtain the above qualifications may be considered.

Participating in special education assessment meetings as well as educational planning meetings and assisting in developing positive behavioral intervention strategies.
Working with those problems in a child's living situation that affect the child’s adjustment in school.
Preparing a social or developmental history on a child with a disability.
Counseling with groups, individual and/or family
Connecting family, school, and community resources to enable the child to learn as effectively as possible in his or her educational program

Providing crisis intervention.
Developing intervention strategies to increase academic success.
Assisting with conflict resolution and anger management.
Helping the child develop appropriate social interaction skills.
Assisting the child in understanding and accepting self and others.

Working with parents to facilitate their support in their children's school adjustment.
Alleviating family stress to enable the child to function more effectively in school and in the community.
Assisting parents to access programs available to students with special needs.
Assisting parents in accessing and utilizing school and community resources.

2022-2023 Temporary Substitute Teacher License

Applicants must have a high school diploma. If interested, please fill out the Temporary Substitute Teacher Questionnaire link below. You will then receive an email with additional information and instructions. Once you apply for the temporary license and have all the additional information turned in, you can begin subbing, although you will not receive the actual license until the end of September. 

*Last year's temporary subs will ONLY need to apply for a new temporary license on the Ohio Department of Education website using the Mercer County ESC IRN #48546, as they did last year.

Substitute Teachers

The Mercer County Educational Service Center is in need of substitute teachers.  Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree (does not need to be in education).  If interested, please print and fill out the Substitute Teacher Application Packet.

Substitute Aides

Substitute aides are needed in Mercer County Educational Service Center classrooms for children (Kindergarten through age 22) with Multiple Disabilities, our center-based preschool classrooms, and at the Community Learning Center.  Our Multiple Disabilities and center-based preschool classrooms are located in Celina, Coldwater, Fort Recovery, Marion Local, Parkway, and St. Henry school districts and the Community Learning Center is located at Cheryl Ann.
